Being in a job that you hate can be extremely hard work, especially as you spend a large proportion of your time there. When you hate your job, or even if you hate your boss, it is very hard to be motivated to try your hardest and perform to your best potential. As well as issues of motivation and happiness, it really isn’t good for the mind to be in a situation that causes you such unhappiness on a daily basis! So if you hate your job, what do you do?
Are your colleagues unwelcoming or sneaky? Do you feel under appreciated? Is your boss just impossible to please? Or is your job role not what you thought it would be? If you hate your boss, colleges or if you hate your job role, then it may be time to move onto something that you love!
Before you do anything hasty, you need to assess the reasons why you hate your job. If you are having a crisis in your personal life, or if you are unwell etc, then you need to decide whether that is the reason why you are unhappy. If you feel there are external influences affecting your job, try to address them first before you make any hasty decisions.
If you are sure that it is your job, colleges or boss that you hate, then you need to change your job. Decide whether it is that particular company you hate, or if it is the type of work you are doing. This is to assess whether you need to change industries or not. Try and keep your hate for your job to yourself; you do not want this getting back to your manager as you may lose your job before you have time to look for a new one.
